Shopping @ Bangkok

hotel view

As mentioned in my previous post, Platinum Shopping Mall was just opposite our hotel. A mere 5 minutes walk across the road! It had been 3 years since I last came here and I wondered if the shops are updated with the latest trends…

I had also heard the mall has an extension and was very amazed when I went there, that they were building ANOTHER extension again! OMG…

When we first reached the mall, me and my friends (gals and guys) were NOT disappointed!

Everyday of our stay, we would pop by the shopping centre and we would definitely come out with bagS of purchases! Money no enough indeed…

Interestingly, the sections of this mall is named after famous shopping streets of the world like…

P1

Basement 1 to 4th floor are stocked with mens’ and ladies’ wear. Tops, bottoms, undergarments, bags, shoes. On the 5th floor, you will be able to find TONS of accessories.

P2

Fake eyelashes galore!

On this same floor, you can also find babies’ and kids’ stuffs!

Cute cartoon character bags…

Recognize these toys from our post about Phuket? Phuket quoted us 450B per toy but here, it’s just 130B! We bought Mr. Tortoise and Mr. Lion straightaway. :)

*Reminder, never buy anything from Phuket that you can get from BKK!

Here are some of my loot…

Army green T-shirt dress with frilly sleeves

Though I did not post any pics of the hubby’s clothes, I assure you, he also have got quite a BIG harvest.

Another place where we enjoyed shopping was…

Boots

We like Boots for the very cheap toiletries, drugs and baby stuffs. Do check it out when you are there.

And the other place we spent alot was at New Century World’s Naraya!

Nar

This shop was thronging with crowds of people everyday! It mainly sells bags of many prints, colors and sizes and the quality is good. It is called 曼谷包 in Chinese (literally ‘Bangkok Bag’).

We bought many pretty bags from there.

Besides the gigantic Platinum Mall (They have an extension now and also currently building ANOTHER extension OMG), Bangkok’s streets are also littered with street vendors selling very cheap stuffs.

Here’s Pratunam market which is situated NEXT to our hotel.
