This is a late post!
For this year’s Halloween party, we did a Shanghai Tang themed dinner instead.
Was feeling rather resigned cos life’s not the same anymore. No more “I feel like going shopping… Let’s go!”. With a baby now, I would need to plan and strategize in order to go out.
Either that or just STAY AT HOME.
And seriously no, I am really NOT grumbling.
Maybe just whining aloud.
And so, instead of researching and shopping for what to wear for Shanghai Tang, I got a kind friend to help me buy a simple but crazily affordable cheongsam for me from Chinatown.
Here are pictures for that night!
(Pardon the poor quality… I loaned my Canon away and used a super old camera to snap the pics.)
Props for the night
Spot the similarity?
Lian’s top and my cheongsam were from the same place!
The very pregnant Minghui was also sporting enough to dress up Shanghai style! I love her little hat :)
The kids played dress up too!
Presenting the lovely Tay kids…
These 3 Shanghai Dollies wore handmade skirts… awesome!
We really love the props available for us to take pictures with :)
The preetty gals
Don’t . Play . With . Us .
The hunky guys
And their not-so-hunky side
FUNNY interesting characters!
Mun Yew – aka Best Actor
Mr Mun Yew came in bow tie, a fake cigar and complete with a fakey moustache drawn by his wife (the lady in black standing next to him)! LOL!
Keith’s dad pictured below.
Yes, the one with the same eyes and I think the same grin as Keith.
Yes, the one wearing the printed shirt and with the gun stuck in his pants HAHA.
Indeed, like father like son. He was such a sport!
Choonpeng came as… a rickshaw driver.
David Ang aka Shanghai Hooligan
Not Shanghai Mafia hahaha
The typical shanghai guy’s outfit that night– Hat check, sunglasses check, scarf check, jacket check.
It was indeed a night of great fun and company! Enjoyed myself :)
