Dreams do come true….!

dreams

Ok, I am going to speak abit in parables here….

Have you ever dreamt of a dream, had a vision… and doubted it? THEN it came to pass?

Well, it happened to me today. The near fulfillment of it. I am truly AMAZED… And I feel so blessed that God remembers… Well, actually of course He does!

Someone spoke a ‘challenge’ into my life 5 years ago. It was a rather impossible thing that would happen. Sounded good, too good to be true. It has never happened before and had never did these 5 years…

I had other options available these 5 years… But today, I finally had this option to live out the ‘challenge’, the dream and vision posed to me in 2004. I am tremendously blessed by this but am also having abit of the jitters. But I take it very seriously. So I need to pray about it through and through. I need to pray…

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding and in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path". Prov 3:5

Animals Galore @ the Singapore Zoo

DSCF2905

That's right. The only place with the Ah Meng's memorial is at the Singapore Zoological Gardens!

Jared and I visited it this morning... for free! Jared's company organized a Family Day there and employees and their families get to go for free. :)

DSCF2819

Cool tickets!

That's great because the usual price of an adult ticket is S$18 and because it's been yearSSS since we last visited the Zoo.

So off we went!

@ the entrance...

 DSCF2820 DSCF2821

We were excited! And we think that the Zoo did not let us down! It has changed so much (for the better!) since the last time we came...

The zoo is pretty much divided into themes... eg: we saw the cats at the Africa Wildlife section.

cats

At the Australian Outback section...

We saw something that caught our eye.

DSCF2825

This bird is of equal value to a WOMAN at one time in New Guinea! What bird is this??!!

When I lifted my eyes to look for this MARVELOUS bird, I saw this from afar....

DSCF2824

I got to take a closer look...

DSCF2827

What a bird! Look at its claws! Jared commented that it's a chicken X10!!!

We also saw kangaroos and emus super close up... I think they could EASILY jump onto the visitors' path... See for yourself!

DSCF2834

DSCF2832

And Jared was awed by the emus... why? Because....

DSCF2835

Wow.

And I learnt a few new things at the zoo...

I realized that the polar bears are REALLY TALL.

DSCF2875

And pygmy hippos are REALLY BIG...

DSCF2852

Taken behind the glass panel... but see the reflection of shoe here and compare the size....!

And that the Proboscis Monkey's nose is really sharp...

DSCF2900

And And, elephants' footprints are REALLY HUGE!

At 11am, we also went to the Splash Amphitheatre to catch a show... It was C-R-O-W-D-E-D!

sealion

The sea lion- Philip (what a human name...) was really smart! He could splash water, act sleeping, do flips in the water, act like a seal (yes there is a difference betw a seal and a sea lion), balance a ball and catch frisbee.

I tried to take a picture with him at the end of the show... I can't be bothered to queue up to take a picture NEXT to him!

DSCF2872

I asked Jared which animal he liked best here.

Well, he said he liked the giraffes...

DSCF2887

DSCF2883

He just had to take a picture with them...

DSCF2889

No wonder Shing is in his subzone... And here's something I learnt about Shing...

DSCF2888

The giraffe's tongue is most flexible and can reach a max length of 53cm!!! Well done Shing! HAHAHA!

I quite liked the zebras... Maybe that's why I have quite a lot of striped clothes...

DSCF2880

Oops sorry... wrong animal...

DSCF2879

I love their stripes! They must be a very fashionable animal together with the leopards!

ze ri

HAHAHA!

Anyway... both of us concluded that we enjoyed sighting the BABOONS best! We witnessed their community living and were really captivated by their... well ah... butts.

DSCF2840

So many of them!

DSCF2841

The boss overseeing the rest... He is big and he looked almost wise...

DSCF2846

Family lunch time...

DSCF2844

A close up of their heart-shaped butts. The biggest one is the leader- the dominant male (aka MCP?).

DSCF2847

Baby baboon hanging on to its mummy!

Don't you think baboons are cute???

Anyway, we enjoyed ourselves this morning even though at the end of the 2.5 hours that we were there, we were craving for seats, aircon and food!

Walking Wardrobe

Yes, this is the name of my NEW M'sian cousin's new website. http://walkingwardrobe.wordpress.com.

She is my NEW cousin cos she is the daughter of my long lost 4th auntie. I met her for the 1st time during my trip to M'sia last week!

DSCF2785

She recently quitted her 9 to 5 job to set up an online blogshop... Cool!

I supported her by buying one of her blouses. Here is it....

Angels & Demons

I used to be a bookworm... from Primary till Secondary School. I used to read Bookworm Stories (I think I was a Bookworm Club member even!), then progressed to reading thrillers like Nancy Drew, and fantasy, detective, romance, horror stories etc etc.

Well, I still read here and there. But last week, I managed to finish off 2 books - Jodi Picoult's Plain Truth and Dan Brown's Angels and Demons. What a feat!

I must say I thoroughly enjoyed reading Angels and Demons!

A&D

I almost could not put the book down each time I picked it up! It was a fast-paced adventure about religion and science. Mysteries being cleverly unraveled, well-planned horrific murders (!) and the twists made me enjoy this read ALOT.

Here's part of the summary from the book jacket (intro only...)

When world-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to a Swiss research facility to analyze a mysterious symbol -- seared into the chest of a murdered physicist -- he discovers evidence of the unimaginable: the resurgence of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati... the most powerful underground organization ever to walk the earth. The Illuminati has surfaced from the shadows to carry out the final phase of its legendary vendetta against its most hated enemy... the Catholic Church.

So, I personally recommend this book.
